No. The confusion occurs because Einstein changed his notation between his 1905 paper and his subsequent works. Most textbooks use the newer notation using x’ and t’ instead of letters from the Greek alphabet.
Fortunately, anyone can review Section 3 of Einstein’s 1905 manuscript and re-create Einstein’s equations. The use of a more convenient notation than Einstein originally used does not change the findings. Do not rely on text books or other people’s derivations. Any analysis that is not based on Einstein’s work may inherently assume that Einstein is right, and therefore may be incapable of revealing the problem.
