The findings in the analysis of the Ives and Stillwell experiment suggest that one of the CICS equations is a good predictor of the Doppler displacement. A small variation of this equation can be used to compute the Doppler shifts.

The CICS equation produces results that are slightly greater than the standard Doppler equation, especially for things moving very fast. For this reason, more investigation is required to better assess its overall applicability.
